The process of installing these systems is designed to be simple while also addressing your concerns around creating a system that’s well suited for your Asheville home. Here’s our 3-step solar installation process:

Step
1

Contact The Team

Start the process by filling out this form online for a free quote. Our team will be in touch with you soon after to talk over how solar power could work in your home. We’ll discuss your property, evaluating qualities like shade cover to be sure solar panels will fit well with your home. If qualified after this discussion, we will schedule a free in-home evaluation.

Step
2

In-Home Consultation

One of our consultants will come to your property to better evaluate your home in person. In addition to looking at the property, we’ll take your electric bills and goals into account when deciding the right size solar system for your home. From these factors, we’ll give you a custom proposal based on your home’s unique energy requirements. Once you sign the proposal, we’ll get to work preparing for installation day.

Step
3

Solar Installation

Our installation team will arrive to install your solar panels promptly on the day of installation. We’ll be sure to work quickly but carefully, ensuring no damage is done to your property. This process should be quick, only taking a day or two. After installation is complete, our team will test your system and clean up our workspace. After a passed inspection, the only step left is your utility provider replacing your meter!

Solar Panel Installation FAQs

How much does it cost to install solar panels in Asheville?

Pink Energy’s solar panel systems are not one size fits all. We create custom solar systems for each customer’s unique energy needs. As such, it’s hard to give an estimate of what your solar panel installation could cost. However, generally the price will depend on your home’s current energy needs, what direction your home faces and how much sunlight your roof receives in addition to other such factors.

Can I install solar panels myself?

It’s possible to do, but we do not recommend it. Pink Energy’s qualified installation teams have the experience needed to ensure your panels are installed properly and in the best position to gather sunlight.

How long does it take to install solar panels?

Our installation team only takes a day or two to have your solar panels up and running. It’s a quick process!

Do I need permission to install solar panels in Asheville?

Yes, some permits are required to install solar panels. It’s likely your local government has some requirements in place before installation occurs. Pink Energy’s experts will help you with the majority of the permits as part of the installation process.

Does installing solar panels void your roof warranty?

In nearly all cases, your roof warranty should remain intact. As long as the installation team did their job right (and our teams are experts), you shouldn’t have any problems with your roof’s warranty. We recommend that you should always double-check with your roof’s manufacturer or installer to confirm.

What permits do I need to install solar panels in Asheville?

Permits needed to install solar panels vary by your own local government’s mandates. Your local government and local utility companies likely have specific requirements in place to satisfy local building and electrical codes. As a general rule, you can expect to have to file for a building permit, an electrical permit and possibly a solar photovoltaic (PV) permit.

Can my HOA stop me from installing solar panels in Asheville?

This varies by neighborhood. However, you can expect to face some pushback from your HOA if your solar panels will face public spaces, such as an HOA-maintained park or road. Pink Energy will work with you to ensure that your solar panels are up to code and satisfy HOA requirements if at all possible!

Can solar panels be installed on a metal roof?

Absolutely! Metal roofs offer a stable surface for solar panel installation, so there should be no problem in having both.
